By using the Site or providing us with your information, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Site, by phone, by text message, by email, and in person in connection with quote requests and moving services. It does not apply to information collected by third-party websites that we do not own or control, even if linked from our Site.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide to Us

When you request a quote, fill out a contact form, schedule a move, call, text, or email us, we may collect information such as:

• Your name;
• Email address;
• Phone number;
• Move origin and destination addresses;
• Details about your move (e.g., move date, home size, inventory of items, special requirements);
• Any other information you choose to include in a form, message, call, or text.

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Site, including:

• IP address and approximate location;
• Browser type and version, device type, and operating system;
• Pages viewed, links clicked, referring/exit pages, and time spent on the Site;
• Cookie and advertising identifiers (described in Section 3 below).

c. Information from Text Messages

If you provide us your mobile phone number, we may also collect the fact of your opt-in and the content of your text message communications with us, as described further in Section 6 (SMS/MMS Text Message Data Policy) below.

If we need such information to complete your move (for example, for billing purposes), it will be collected through a secure, separate process, not through general web forms.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as scheduling/CRM software (e.g., SmartMoving), payment processors, website hosting, email/SMS delivery platforms, and analytics providers, solely to help us operate our business and the Site;
• Moving crew, subcontractors, or partner carriers directly involved in performing your move, as needed to complete the Services;
• Professional advisors (e.g., accountants, attorneys, insurers) as needed;
• Government authorities or other third parties when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Roc City Movers or others;
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

Any sharing of your phone number and SMS consent is further limited as described in Section 6 below.

6. SMS/MMS Text Message Data Policy (TCR Compliance)

This section outlines our strict policy regarding data collected through text messaging, ensuring compliance with carrier rules (The Campaign Registry - TCR).

7. Email Communications

If you provide your email address, we may send you transactional messages (such as quote confirmations and appointment reminders) and, where you have agreed or as otherwise permitted by law, marketing communications about our Services.

Every marketing email we send includes an "unsubscribe" link, and you may opt out of marketing emails at any time by following that link or by contacting us at hello@roccitymovers.com.

We will still send you transactional or service-related emails necessary to complete a move you have booked, even after you opt out of marketing emails, in accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services you request, maintain business and tax records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized use.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to know what information we collect, to request access to or a copy of that information, to request correction or deletion of your information, and to opt out of certain uses (such as targeted advertising or "sale"/"sharing" of information, as those terms are defined under applicable law), for residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others).

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

New York residents: You may also have rights under New York's SHIELD Act and other applicable state laws regarding the security of your information.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
